LOVE HAVERHILL? LOVE THE ARTS CENTRE!
The Town Hall was gifted to the people of Haverhill in 1883 by Daniel Gurteen with the intention to
- Serve the social well-being of the town and the neighbourhood
- Promote the intellectual well-being of the town
- Foster a healthy public spirit
We think it is fabulous that these intentions spoken by a Victorian benefactor of our town so long ago still perfectly describe what the building does today! These days Haverhill Community Trust facilitates the old town hall’s use as the arts centre – the beating cultural heart of our town. Maintaining a 135-year old building which is used by thousands of people a year is no small task. But with the kind generosity of supporters like you (and lots of hard work from us) we want the arts centre to be a community resource for many years to come.
