Meet the Treasure Island cast: Eleanor Homer

Ahead of Treasure Island‘s opening night, we caught up with Eleanor Homer – who will play Marina the Mermaid and Pirate Shivers – and learned about her love for performing live on stage and her background in theatre.

How does Eleanor related to her character?

Eleanor has been a mermaid fan for a very long time, Disney’s Little Mermaid was (and still is!) a strong favourite. She is very excited to help bring some mermaid magic to Treasure Island this Easter!

Where did Eleanor train?

Eleanor trained at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Her credits include: Jo in Little Women (The Crescent Theatre), Alice in Wonderland (Nottingham), Flopsy Bunny in Peter Rabbit (Rufford Abbey) Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Cambridge Shakespeare Festival) and Alice in Alice’s Adventures in Easterland (Touring for That’s Entertainment productions).

What is her favourite memory of performing?

Her favourite memory from her performing career so far is when she was playing the lion in an outdoor production of A midsummer Night’s Dream and a fox stole her costume – it was found days later in a bush!

What is her favourite type of show to perform?

Eleanor especially loves performing in pantomimes and children’s theatre and loves discovering new parts of the country on tour!
