Meet our pantomime cast: Katy Cocks
With opening night now mere days away, we spoke to Katy Cocks - who plays Alice Fitzwarren in this year's Haverhill panto - about the things she's getting most excited for about Christmas.
Favourite Christmas carol/song?
So I’m a sucker for In The Bleak Midwinter. It’s such a beautiful carol. But I must admit I will put on Jamie Cullum’s Christmas album from mid November!
Worst Christmas present ever received?
I don’t know if I’ve ever received a bad present! If people go out of their way to give a present I think that in itself is just joyous… having said that I did get a bottle of washing up liquid one year…
Best Christmas Film?
Argh how can anyone choose just one?! I’m a sucker for the old ones. It’s A Wonderful Life, White Christmas and Meet Me In St Louis. Sorry I can’t choose between them.
Brandy Butter or Custard on your Christmas pudding?
Custard… all day custard!
Sprouts – love or hate?
Sorry but I’m not a fan at all.
Presents before or after Christmas lunch?
In my house we do presents after breakfast.
Favourite panto?
Dick Whittington of course. It’s the classic!
Dream Christmas Dinner party guest?
Currently it’s Florence Pugh.. but to be honestly probably just my mum!
New Year – staying in or going out?
Having people over! I love having a house full of people and playing games.
Tell us your best/worst cracker joke!
What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire? Frostbite
Dick Whittington runs at Haverhill Arts Centre from 15 – 24 December. With some performances already selling out there’s never a better time to book! Book tickets here
