Meet the cast of Jack and the Beanstalk: Sinéad Mathias-Medeiros
Back for her second year performing in Haverhill Art Centre’s Christmas pantomime, Sinéad Mathias-Medeiros will play the role of our hero, Jack, in Jack and the Beanstalk. Ahead of the show we caught up with Sinéad and asked her some quickfire Christmas-themed questions.
Favourite Christmas song?
Definitely Leona Lewis – One More Sleep. I think it’s such a great modern Christmas song and Leona Lewis has such a beautiful voice.
Do you open any presents before Christmas day?
No! Well unless it’s the Panto cast Secret Santa! Does that count? We did it last year, we had a big Santa sack and sat in a big circle on the stage it was so lovely. I’m looking forward to that again this year!
Tell us your worst Christmas cracker joke.
I don’t remember any jokes ever…I actually only know one joke…why is 6 afraid of 7? Because 7 8 9! Lol
Favourite Christmas food?
Pigs in blankets! For sure and bread sauce…. I just love a Christmas dinner. And the Christmas sandwiches that come out in the shops!
Favourite Christmas film?
Oh no…this is so hard….probably Elf…so many excellent quotes in that movie! It’s just hilarious.
Worst Christmas present you’ve ever received?
Hmmmmm I don’t have one I think, I must just be very lucky, or very grateful!
Do you have a weird Christmas tradition?
Yes! A few years ago we started playing hide the Xmas pickle….someone hides the pickle on the Xmas tree and whoever finds it has luck for the whole year and gets to hide it the following year.
If you have pets, do they get dressed up?
No pets, just children and we all have matching pyjamas! And a new Christmas outfit to wear on Christmas Day!
Favourite pantomime?
Jack and the Beanstalk of course! I actually love all pantos, I just love panto and everything about it! The songs, the audience participation, the magic, the costumes- it’s just the best.
Stay in or go away for Christmas?
Stay home for sure, otherwise how will Santa find me?
