Haverhill Beer Weekend FAQ

With the Haverhill Beer Weekend just around the corner, here is all you need to know ahead of the event.

When is this year’s event?

The Haverhill Beer Weekend will run across two days in June:

FRIDAY 20^th June: 12PM – 11PM

SATURDAY 21^st June: 12PM – 11PM

How can I buy tickets?

The best place to buy tickets is online. Tickets will also be available to purchase on the door but there is no guarantee of entry. You can purchase tickets here.

Can I pay on the day?

Yes, but tickets are limited and there is no guarantee of entry. It’s best to book ahead online to secure your ticket and guarantee entry.

How does the beer glass deposit work?

A £1 beer glass deposit will be attached to each ticket. The cost secures your own glass to enjoy throughout the day and helping to reduce plastic waste. Alternatively, please donate your deposits and unspent cards to our two charities, St Nicholas Hospice and Haverhill Community Trust. Refunds cannot be processed until W/C 23 June.

What time is last entry?

Last entry is one hour before closing time – 10pm Friday & Saturday.

When is last call?

20 minutes prior to closing time.

What if I don’t like beer?

Even if you don’t enjoy the taste of beer there are still plenty of options. The Beer Weekend will have a fully licensed bar, stocking a wide selection of spirits and soft drinks.

This year Gifford’s Hall will have a stall serving and selling a wide selection of their wines.

For the designated drivers and non-drinkers we are also offering an entry only ticket for £4, which includes free selected soft drinks.

Can children attend?

Children are welcome to attend but they must be accompanied by an adult. For those not old enough to drink there will be a number of children’s games and activities to keep your little ones entertained, including board games, Jenga and various arts and craft activities.

Can I bring food in?

If you fancy popping out to a local takeaway you are more than welcome to bring your food back to the Arts Centre to enjoy with your beer.

Will there be food available?

Freshly made burgers and hotdogs will be available to purchase at the Haverhill Arts Centre bar throughout the weekend.

What live entertainment will there be?

This year’s Beer Weekend will see an exciting variety of local musical acts taking to the stage, including Jazz Piano with Amandine Ward, Steve Spall So-Low, Slim Pickin’s and the Open Mic Showcase.

Can I come back if I leave?

Each ticket comes with a wristband which will allow you entry into the Arts Centre for the whole day. The wristband is only available for re-entry on the same day you purchased your ticket.

Will I need to bring ID?

The Haverhill Beer Weekend supports and operates the Challenge 21 scheme. If you are lucky enough to appear under 21, you will be asked for ID to check you are over 18. The only acceptable ID is a government issued photo ID (photo driving licence or passport) or a card showing the PASS Scheme hologram.

How can I get there by bus from Bury St. Edmunds and Cambridge?

The number 13 bus runs at regular intervals from Cambridge to Haverhill. There is a limited service on Sunday.

The number 14 and 15 busses run at regular intervals from Bury St. Edmunds to Haverhill. There is no bus service on Sunday.
