Marcus Brigstocke – Friday 10 January

Marcus Brigstocke’s talent was noted early on in his career in 1996 when he won the BBC New Comedian Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He is now regarded as a major comedy, writing, and acting talent, performing stand-up nationally to sell-out audiences on tour.

BBC Radio 4 has become somewhat of a second home to Marcus with regular appearances on I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, The Now Show and Just a Minute; he has written and recorded five series of his hit show Giles Wemmbley-Hogg Goes Off. Most recently, he co-starred alongside Kerry Godliman in two series of The Wilsons Save the World. Marcus’ debut play, The Red, was commissioned by BBC Radio 4 and won the BBC Audio Drama Award in 2018 for Best Single Drama. Following on from this success, Marcus directed a stage version and brought it to Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019 to much critical acclaim.

Marcus has notched up an impressive list of TV credits including his role as team captain on Argumental (Dave), and host of The Late Edition and I’ve Never Seen Star Wars (BBC Four). Other appearances include: Live at the Apollo (BBC One), Have I Got News for You (BBC One), Mock the Week (BBC Two), QI (BBC Two), Sorry, I’ve Got No Head (BBC One), The Late Edition (BBC Four), and The 11 O’Clock Show (Channel 4).

Marcus is the master of satirical comedy and has proved to be blisteringly funny over a wide range of topics including: climate change, religious extremism, immigration, loans companies, the Special Relationship, compensation culture, women’s magazines, the EU, and David Blaine, not to mention his own personal battle against his middle-class roots.

Seann Walsh – Saturday 8 March

Described as ‘the best observational comedian of his generation’ (The Guardian), this Edinburgh Award nominee’s last UK tour show After This One, I’m Going Home ended with standing ovations around the country. Seann has starred in Netflix’s Flinch, Live at the Apollo, Tonight at the London Palladium, Celebrity Juice, The Stand Up Sketch Show, Virtually Famous, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Chatty Man and Stand Up Central.

Seann can also be heard on his regular podcast What’s Upset You Now? alongside co-host Paul McCaffrey, which sees them both moan for exactly 15 minutes about the things that infuriate everyone.

You can catch Seann on YouTube in his latest stand-up special Kiss. Recorded live at The Bill Murray pub, Seann recounts living through the centre of a media storm in his distinctively shambolic, intense and energetic trademark style.

Not just one of the country’s funniest stand-up comedians, Seann can be seen acting in Jack Dee’s ITV sitcom Bad Move where he plays audience favourite, Grizzo.

Jeff Innocent – Friday 30 May

Multi award-winning comedian Jeff Innocent has reached legendary status among his peers and audiences alike by staying at the top of his game for over 20 years.

His unique appeal lies in the contrast between his east end ‘geezer’ appearance and demeanour, and his educated, philosophical delivery and culturally relevant subject matter.

Always original, he continues to cement his position within the history of British stand up comedians with his regular performances on the UK and world live comedy circuit and has recently acquired a whole new generation of fans, through his online viral video clips.
