Pop Up Pinter

Drama Tue 22 & Wed 23 Nov 2022

The Freaky Haze, in memory of Barbara Tyler, present The Dumb Waiter and One For The Road by the legendary Harold Pinter.

Two dark one act plays from the pen of the master of menace.

The Dumb Waiter is one of Pinter’s best-known works, focussing on two hitmen awaiting their next job, becoming increasingly unbalanced as the play unfolds. One For The Road is a play brimming with anger and indignation, a government agent interrogates a family of suspected dissidents. Written as a political statement, this play is brutal, dark and should definitely inspire a reaction. Both plays feature strong language and dark themes that may be unsuitable for younger audience members. This is a new collaboration between the Arts Centre and a group of local performers, with support from Centre Stage Company, stripped back, up close, and intense. With minimal scenery/costume/effects and with the focus purely on the script and the performances.
