Collect your free trail map from Haverhill Library or Haverhill Arts Centre anytime throughout December to get involved. Families should follow the trail and hunt for the objects listed in bold in the story.

Find at least ten objects and write them down next to the shop you found them in. Once you’ve finished, hand your completed trail back into Haverhill Library or the Arts Centre to be entered into our weekly prize draw.

Prizes include:

Week one (winners announced on 6 December)

  • One family entry to The Zone plus an £20 café voucher
  • Free movie rental and a bag of popcorn from TVL Allstar Videos

Week two (winners announced on 13 December)

  • Family of four ticket to the Pantomime including pre-theatre tea
  • Déjà Vu Café voucher for £15

Week three (winners announced on 20 December)

  • Family Abbeycroft adventure for 4 including 4 XHEIGHT climbing wall tickets and 4 soft play children’s tickets

Week four (winners announced on 27 December)

  • Family Abbeycroft adventure for 4 including 4 XHEIGHT climbing wall tickets and 4 soft play children’s tickets
  • Haverhill Arts Centre tickets for any film (not including broadcasts or specials)

Week five (drawn 3 January)

  • A selection of children’s books
  • £30 Buttercup Bakery and Café voucher
  • £5 book voucher

This trail is suitable for families of early years and primary school aged children. One entry per child throughout December. All entries that do not win a prize will be carried over to the following weeks prize draw. Enter early to be in with the chance of winning all prizes.

 

Top tips for story trail fun…

  • Take time to enjoy the trail, you can always take a few trips to do it. The trail is available from 1-31 December.
  • Read the story on the back of the map together, before you begin the trail. Try and predict what might happen next.
  • Talk about other things you spot in the window displays and try to guess what each shop sells.
  • If one person finds the hidden item, give clues to your family about where it is. Don’t worry if you don’t find them all, you only need 10 to enter!
  • If you’re heading to Haverhill Library to hand in your completed trail, sign-up to access free books.
  • Visit our Words for Life website for lots more games and tips to use when chatting to your children.
  • Draw a picture from the story when you get home and send it to us on Facebook.
