Christmas Fun Day

Family event Sat 2 Dec 2023 12:00PM

This year, rather than having a ‘late night shopping’ event (for which many shops do not open due to overtime costs) we have focused more activity to attract people into town on the Saturday when all the shops will be open.

On Saturday 2 December there will be old-style rides and attractions on Market Square, with community, charity and small trader stalls in Queen Street, plus street performers.

The New Haverhill Santa’s Sleigh organised by the teams from the Haverhill Show and Disco Kitchen teams will also be in the town centre. West Suffolk’s Makers Market will be running in the High Street from 9.00am.

Queen Square traders have once again organised their exceedingly popular Santa’s Grotto for Friday 1 December and Saturday 2 December.

A Christmas Lights Switch-On event will take place in front of the Christmas Tree on the market square at approximately 4.45pm on the Saturday, with Star Radio and the star of the Arts Centre panto, Coronation Street’s Scott Wright, along with other entertainment. The event is to be followed by a firework display at 5.30pm on the Recreation Ground.
